Vancouver's cutting-edge dance company The Holy Body Tattoo presents their latest progream Running Wild in Peterborough, Ontario. The company that "skyrockets dance theatre into new realms" (The Washington Post) mines the bittersweet landscape of human relationships with a collection of short works - three duets and two solos. Travelling along dizzying, secret folds, alliances are found, sealed and left behind. Featuring guest dancers Day Helesic and Blair Neufeld, the program also includes two new solos performed by co-artistic directors Noam Gagnon and Dana Gingras. A highlight of the evening is the new duet Running Wild, featuring a commissioned score by acclaimed UK band Tindersticks - known for their signature gutter ballads - and performed by Gagnon and Gingras with "a full-blown over-the-top physical commitment that is unlike anybody else in the business."(Vancouver Sun). Characterized as much by a partner's absence as by presence, both the solos and duets explore the possibilities for redemption and disintegration of the self under the pressures of love, loss and desire.

Founded in 1993, The Holy Body Tattoo has received both critical and audience acclaim with performances in Canada, the U.S. and Europe. Gagnon and Dana have performed independently for many of Canada's leading choreographers and have danced together since 1987. Employing multimedia elements in film, video projection and music, the work of The Holy Body Tattoo explores the nature of human endurance through ideas of surrender, fragility and broken elegance.

Holy Body Tattoo's Peterborough engagement is the first and only appearance of Running Wild in Ontario in the 2004-05 season.
