Inspired by the stories of his grandfather’s escape from Estonia (Eesti) at the end of WWII, Eesti: Myths and Machines is a tour de force of movement, storytelling and multi-disciplinary collaboration. At its centre a mobile sound sculpture - the machine - suggests the castle where an uncle was tortured, the boat in which his family fled Estonia, and of course, the machine of war. Themes of heroism, redemption and madness lead us through a delirious narrative, describing a story at once epic and sobering.
