Lizt Alfonso: Danza Cuba
Direct from Havana on their first ever Canadian tour

Fuerza y Compás, a critically acclaimed Lizt Alfonso Danza Cuba production, will delight everyone who enjoys large-scale dance extravaganza that blends the fire of the flamenco, the elegance of the ballet and the passion of Afro-Cuban dances with the infectious and hypnotic rhythms of Latin Afro-Cuban music. Established in Cuba in 1991 by the renowned ballerina and choreographer Lizt Alfonso, the company has been recognized as an ensemble whose material is truly unique in the world, thrilling to both the knowing and uninitiated audiences.
In 2007 the company performed a month of sold-out performances at Toronto’s Royal Alexandra Theatre. In the footsteps of that overwhelming success, the company will now tour Canada with no less than 18 dates from Sept-Îles to Whitehorse, including Montreal’s Place des Arts and Ottawa’s National Arts Centre.
