Emergency Performance Festival

Emergency Performance Festival showcases and celebrates new performance work by Peterborough-area artists. For over 20 years, Public Energy has made the Emergency Festival the cornerstone of our commitment to support local artists in the creation of new work. Emergency not only engages local audiences and artists, it also creates lasting collaborative partnerships with individuals and community groups. More than 200 artists have premiered new works through Emergency; many of those have later developed into more extensive pieces with longer lives.

The 2019-2020 Emergency Festival #23 will feature work by: Hermione Rivison, Nadine Changfoot, Anne Jaeger, Dreda Blow, Kristal Jones, Wes Ryan, and Paul Epstein. For more information visit the Emergency #23 page.

In Public Energy’s 2017-2018 season, our Emergency Festival #22 featured work by: Hermione Rivison, Anne White, Sarah Rudnicki, Robyn Smith and Bennett Bedoukian, Thomas Vaccaro and Ethan Hinsehlwood, Opal (Jen) Elchuk and Kayla Stanistreet, Becca Partington and Wes Ryan, Mandy Livings, Charlie Petch, Leslie Menagh, Kate Story, Nicole Malbeuf, and Old Men Dancing.
