Erring on the Mount is a site-specific multidisciplinary arts festival at The Mount Community Centre. The festival is organized into two programs featuring more than 60 artists: Program A (admission by donation) and Program B (ticketed). Find out more in the welcome message from artistic producer Bill Kimball and the curator’s statement from Liz Fennell. There is also a special exhibit within Erring on the Mount called No Man's Land, curated by Judith Mason.

What’s in a name? Erring on the Mount takes its name from an important event held in Peterborough in 1996. Read all about it including historic video, poster and program.

Come prepared: Erring on the Mount takes place in a building undergoing a transformation after being unused for 5 years; parts of it are still musty, there is no running water and the elevators are not in service. There are many stairs to negotiate if you want to experience everything, and you will have to go outside to take advantage of our comfort stations. So bring a good pair of walking shoes, a bottle of water, and a spirit of adventure as you make your way around Erring on the Mount. Regarding accessibility: We regret that the venue is not fully accessible. As a heritage building, with multifarious staircases and in its current state of transformation, accessibility measures could not be addressed for Erring on the Mount.

Content Advisory: Erring on the Mount is a program of contemporary art with some provocative religious and sexual themes and imagery, although you won’t see anything here that you wouldn’t see in the Sistine Chapel. Nevertheless, labels with descriptions are posted to assist parents and guardians as to the appropriateness of content within individual rooms.

Some hot tips on how to experience Erring on the Mount.
