Public Energy’s fall Artist in Residence, Brian Solomon, is leading a 6 week community engaged workshop series culminating in 2 public performances. Nogojiwanong: Rite of Spring is a re-envisioning of the iconic Rite of Spring via a contemporary Indigenous lens. Solomon is passionate about helping people relearn about their forgotten bodies, and take back the space those bodies occupy.

[in]SITES is a new site-specific performance series presented by four Peterborough arts organizations working together: Public Energy, Artspace, the Art Gallery of Peterborough and ReFrame Film Festival. The goal of [in]SITES is to open up dialogues around the relationship between performance, site, and contemporary art practices. The program comprises eight public events: three performances, one film screening, two artist talks, one panel talk, and one artist workshop.

Mouthpiece is a harrowing, humorous, and heart-wrenching journey into a woman’s psyche. Interweaving a cappella harmony, dissonance, text, and physicality, it follows one woman for one day, as she tries to fi nd her voice. Two performers express the inner conflict that exists in her head: the push and the pull, the past and the present, progress and regression.

Public Energy is pleased to welcome Deepti Gupta back to Peterborough for the premiere of her newest work, Snowangels; the longstanding relationship between Gupta and Public Energy has included a number of new works, most notably her iconoclastic work, Rubies, in 2003.
