Incorporating video and images, each class will examine the history, current trends, and key artists of each genre. All classes will feature a guest artist talk by a leading artist in the field of contemporary performance. Guest artists include: Brian Solomon (Anishinaabe, Toronto), Kate Story (Peterborough), Lara Kramer (Oji-Cree, Montreal), and Deepti Gupta (Ottawa). All guest speakers will be performing their work at a part of Public Energy’s 2017-2018 season, or as a Public Energy supported event. Inside Contemporary Performance is taught by Public Energy’s Performance Curator Victoria Mohr-Blakeney.
