A celebratory CD Launch for clifton joseph

An outspoken and insightful writer, clifton joseph is one of the founders of the dub poetry movement in Canada and has performed widely across Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom and the West Indies; published Metropolitan Blues, a book of poems; released an album of poetry & music, Oral Trans/missions; CD/single Shots On Eglinton; videopoems Pimps and Survival (In The City); penned poems for CBC Radio and TV, for Michael Douglas’ short film Blu Shifts Desire and Steve Williams’s movie debut Songs In The Key Of Life; and has contributed to a number of written and audio anthologies including De Dub Poets (with Lillian Allen and Devon Haughton). This tour launches his newest Spoken Word CD and 2 books.

Chet Singh and long time collaborator Jarrett have been working between time zones and war zones on their newest indie effort slated for release later this year. Their last 2 releases have chanted on Canada’s indie music chart for World Music. Chet, a founding members of Canada’s Dub Poet’s Collective is an educator whose work on social justice education has been recognized by a number of teaching awards in North America. He recently collaborated on the Open Education Resource textbook: From Social Analysis to Social Action

Jon Hedderwick is a poet, spoken word artist, organizer and educator of mixed Ashkenazi Jewish and Scottish heritage. He is the Peterborough Poetry Slam’s Artistic Director, a co-founder of the Take-out Poetry Project, and is in the spoken word duo, WordCraft. His poetry has been featured at poetry slam and spoken word series across Canada, as well as at The Words Aloud Poetry Festival, the Storytellers of Canada National Conference, the Saskatoon Poetic Arts Festival and the Precarious Festival, where he has twice been an artist Residence. He has also produced a series of cinepoems, an EP and is currently workshopping a solo show called Enkidu, set to debut in January 2023.
