Conference of the Birds

Peterborough New Dance

A short (25 minute) dance inspired by the 12th century Sufi story of an ensemble of birds in search of enlightenment. It is neither a literal nor a narrative interpretation but rather, explores ideas from the story metaphorically through dance. Meet Denise and her birds – nine of Toronto’s finest dancers – immediately following the performance.
