ALLEY WALTZ
Theatre and Dance at night in the backalleys of Peterborough
Do you really know downtown Peterborough? What is lurking behind your favourite bar, restaurant or government building? Where does that back-alley go? And what’s going on in that dead-end alley? These questions and more will be answered on Thursday September 28 to Saturday September 30 as part of the Peterborough Artsweek . Organized by local theatre artists Laurel Paluck and Phil Oakley, The Alley Waltz is a night-time tour of site-specific performance art in the back-alleys of Peterborough.
With a host leading the way, the journey begins at the Peterborough Arts Umbrella and follows a walking path through Peterborough’s downtown alleyways, where local theatre and dance artists have created original works designed to take advantage of unique urban settings. The Alley Waltz features the following works: Shark (Frank Flyn and Ryan Kerr); To A Head (anya gwynne); Suspend (Jenn Cole and Sophia Cooper); They’re Going to Find Us (Patti Shaughnessy, Kevin O’Neil, and Mouquirous); Burnt Bridges: A Sorta Cindrella Ballroom Snip-it Scene (Jarrett Prescott and Marnie Williams), and Drink Without Crying (Kate Story and Michael Morritt).
