Do you really know downtown Peterborough? What is lurking behind your favourite bar, restaurant or government building? Where does that back-alley go? And what’s going on in that dead-end alley? These questions and more will be answered on Friday September 30 and Saturday October 1 as part of the Peterborough ArtsWeek. Organized by local theatre artists Laurel Paluck and Phil Oakley, The Alleyway Waltz is a night-time tour of site-specific performance art in the back-alleys of Peterborough.
With a host leading the way, the journey begins at the Millennium Park Boathouse and follows a walking path through Peterborough’s downtown alleyways, where local theatre and dance artists have created original works designed to take advantage of unique urban settings. Artists include: anya gwynne, Mandy Livings, Mayelin Lovette Semmler, Leigh Macdonald, Jess Rowland, scooter, Patti Shaughnessy, Shrimps
The approx 1hr45 min tour will end at the Peterborough Arts Umbrella’s Open House, where refreshments will be served and audience members can unwind. Live music by the Kiss n’ Tells will be provided on Saturday only as a way of celebrating the wrapping up of Artsweek.
