Celebrating 30 Years
Explore 30 years of Public Energy history here in our Archives. Beginning with the early years when we were known as Peterborough New Dance, right up to the 2023-2024 season, our 30th.
- Every Season Every Show
This is where we listed every event we’ve ever presented or co-presented. If you don’t find a show you remember going to, please let us know and we’ll get it in here. - Artists
Everyone who is credited with creating a performance that we presented is here. From the up and coming choreographer making their very first professional dance to Canada’s most celebrated international stars. - Companies
Every company or group that’s ever been presented by Public Energy or Peterborough New Dance. - Time Machine
Highlights of 25 events from each of our first 25 years. Each year has one or two short (under 10 minutes) video(s) and a descriptive essay. - Emergency Minutes
Short video highlights from all 22 Emergency Festivals, going back to 1992. Yes, that is prior to our founding in 1994. The first two were presented by Artspace, but you can see them here. Emergency was our festival of brand new creations from local artists working in any form. It was a real potpourri of dance, theatre, circus, media by artists both emerging and veteran. - The Public Energy Video Vault
This vault does not feature Public Energy events. It is a collection of video highlights of performing arts events that have taken place locally between the mid 1980s and late 1990s. Compiled by Public Energy’s founder, Bill Kimball, from his collection of ¾” and ½” video, they chronicle local events that span his career working in the local dance and theatre world.
