Circus Boy

A FILM BY LA ALFONSO

PART OF THE REFRAME FILM FESTIVAL

MARKET HALL PERFORMING ARTS CENTRE (140 CHARLOTTE ST, PETERBOROUGH)

FRIDAY JANUARY 24 2020

5:00 PM

A man finds reconciliation with his mother when he and his husband adopt a boy that he’s training for circus school.

When Ethan came into their lives, Thomas and Michael fell in love all over again. Thomas is nervous about introducing their adoptive son Ethan to his mother Michelle, who is visiting Peterborough from North Carolina. Ethan does not feel ready for the command circus performance scheduled later that night. Michelle wants to meet Ethan’s bio-mom Tricia and have a chat. Followed by a performance by the Peterborough Circus.

Following the film, don’t miss a cyr wheel performance by Peterborough Circus founder Thomas Vaccaro and his protégé Ethan, also subjects of Circus Boy. In this performance a mentor and his apprentice reflect on their relationship. One dreams of the future while the other recalls his earlier self, determined to not let his young student down.
