Program A
Jenn Cole
Je Vous Salut Marie
In an exploration of the Virgin birth from the point of view of a conflicted young Mary, Ms. Cole returns to the Emergency stage in her dance solo based on the controversial film of the same name by Jean Luc Godard.

Shannon Culkeen
In Loving Memory (for Catherine)
Two dancers bring subtle improvisations to this duet built on the experience of grief, memory and shared histories to the original score of sound-worker Meaghan Culkeen.

Old Men Dancing
Holding On / Letting Go
Through the collaboration of their skills and stories of personal experience, this group of local men tell through dance and spoken word, the struggle between holding on and letting go..of mothers, lovers, friends, homes, cars, identities, and the paradox that letting go can allow us to hold on to what we really need.

Edge of the Woods Theatre
Anziani
Combining clown and acrobatics, this performance tells a snapshot story of an old Italian couple engaged in their morning routine. A romantic and hilarious take on ways lovers grow to depend on each other for their daily sustenance.
Christina Serra & Dan Watson

Program B
Lester Alfonso
Chapter Nowhere
In his unique and engaging storytelling performance, video-artist Lester Alfonso combines film, music, and text – randomly drawn from his recipe box- to illustrate episodes from his life.

Ballet for Drop-Outs
Dropout
Drawing on individual dance experiences including ballet, modern, step, and classical Indian dance, this collaboratively choreographed work reflects a shared desire to reclaim and re-imagine the dream and experience of dance.

Sophia Cooper
Cosmogonal Breath
In this solo dance performance inspired by parallels between modern physics and eastern mysticism, Ms. Cooper attempts to uncover a holistic understanding of existence.

Ryan Kerr
An excerpt from Don’t Belong: A Minor Collection of Song and Dance.
An original collaborative performance from local singer songwriter Drea and dance company Fleshy Thud.  This new duet from Ryan Kerr with Anne Ryan tells an “almost love story” set to Drea’s haunting piano compositions, written intentionally for a visual reception.

Mandy Livings
Neamh
With modern dance and a nod to step dancing, Ms. Livings has choreographed a group of young dancers to represent the emerging youth and spirit of Ireland as she grows onto the world stage.

Program C
Kate Story
Performances May Be Permanent
Last fall, Kate presented a work-in-progress drawn from the life and death of iconic pianist Glenn Gould.  It was fun, but she couldn’t shake the nagging question “why?”  Working with director Ker Wells, this new installment investigates Kate’s personal connection to the material.  Gould, in a sense, belongs to us all.  The artist functions as a rubric under which we examine memory.

Performance is approximately 45 minutes.
