Directed by Muriel Miguel; Written and Performed by Jani Lauzon, Monique Mojica, and Michelle St. John

The Turtle Gals are a performance ensemble made up of 3 veteran theatre artists: Jani Lauzon, Monique Mojica and Michelle St. John. First performed in 2002, The Scrubbing Project is an exploration of self-effacing and self-erasing, derived from the impulse of wanting to scrub and cleanse oneself of one’s colour; of one’s own skin. It effectively juxtaposes grief with the hilarity and absurdities of being three mixed-blood Native women at the turn of the 21st century.
