CHOREOGRAPHED BY MYRIAM ALLARD
Performed by Myriam Allard, Hedi El Moro and musician TBA
A piece for one dancer, one singer and one percussionist, proposes a purified and essential flamenco, one entirely focused on the rhythm and the drama of the dance.
1981 FM
CHOREOGRAPHED BY THROWDOWN COLLECTIVE
Performed by Zhenya Cerneacov, Mairéad Filgate, Brodie Stevenson.
Throwdown Collective returns with their third
and most daring piece yet. This time the dynamic trio combines
their signature high-paced and energetic physicality with a vaguely vintage car.
Come see the trio re-invent the classic afternoon drive.
First premiered at Dusk Dances 2013.
UNQUIET WINDS
CHOREOGRAPHED BY DENISE FUJIWARA
Performed by Sylvie Bouchard and Brendan Wyatt
Unquiet Winds was inspired by medieval Japanese and European love poems.
Its creation employs principles of Japanese Butoh dance.
“I saw a girl under green laurel
Colder and whiter than the snow
Untouched by the sun for many years”.
Francesco Petrarch
“Imperceptible
It withers in the world
This flower-like human heart.”
Komachi
First premiered at Dusk Dances 2013.
INNER CITY SIRENS, PART II
CHOREOGRAPHED BY JULIA APLIN
Performed by Mairéad Filgate and Brodie Stevenson.

Reigning World Champions in the sport of pairs synchronized swimming
for petite pools! The athletes will display the strength, co-ordination
and skill needed to maintain the highest level of accomplishment.
Cheer them on as they strive to overcome challenges
and thrive in the glory of the sport.
First premiered at Dusk Dances 1998.
QUANTA
CHOREOGRAPHED BY ANDREA LITHGOW
Performed by Dancers from Kawartha Children’s Dance Centre, Megan Brohm, Taylor Brohm, Lexie Riley, Marina Thornbury, Arianna Webster.
This piece is inspired by Quantum Theory; a complex web of
interconnectivity, ripples of indiscernible energy, momentum,
moments of breakthrough. Through the movement of the dancers,
Quanta suggests the deep connectivity we experience with one another…
with everything. If such connectivity exists, then the possibility
to cultivate compassion and empathy, and harmonize relationships exists also.
Here is an exploration of the space-between, and what can be said, shared and
experienced in moments of transition.
Premieres at Dusk Dances Peterborough 2014.
